Route pricing for delivered construction materials

Route pricing works out what it costs to truck a material from the pickup site to the delivery site - distance and drive time, fuel, driver time and tolls - and turns that cost into a haul price per unit on the quote line.

What goes into a haul price?

Quote360 prices the route a truck would take, not a straight line on a map, and divides the cost of the trip by the quantity on the line.

Cost components of a route
ComponentWhere the number comes fromUnit
Distance and drive timeHERE truck routingmiles, hours
FuelEIA diesel prices by state$ per gallon
Driver timeYour hourly rate, or BLS wage data$ per hour
TollsCurated toll rates, with HERE as the fallback$ per trip
Haul on the quoteRoute cost divided by the line quantity$ per ton or cubic yard

Route pricing covers the United States.

Why does the haul matter so much?

On the showcase aggregate quote the haul is $16.20 of a $44.67 delivered ton - more than a third of the price. A haul estimated by feel is where margin disappears on long or tolled routes.

Which trucks and sites does it use?

Each company keeps its own trucks, truck types and fuel types, and its sites with their coordinates. The quote uses those records, so the route is priced for the truck and the sites you actually use.

Where does route pricing work?

On routes inside the United States. Companies elsewhere can use Quote360 for quoting, workflows and proposals; route pricing for other countries is not available yet.

Questions and answers

Are fuel prices looked up live for every quote?
No. Fuel prices, wage data and toll rates are refreshed on a schedule and read when the route is priced, so a quote does not wait on outside services.
Does Quote360 show where trucks are right now?
No. It prices routes before the job; it does not show live truck locations.
